These peppers may not look like typical , but they still pack similar amounts of heat! Habanero Mayan Yellow Peppers are a popular variety commercially grown in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.

Habanero Mayan pepper plants grow sturdy up to 3 ft. tall and are incredibly prolific! Watch them grow and produce high yields of these 3-4” long, lantern-shaped peppers that are slightly more slender and smoother than regular habanero peppers. Pods will change colors from green to their signature bright yellow.

With slightly less heat, but a more pungent fruity flavor, the Habanero Mayan Yellow pepper is a great substitute if you want a hot, tropical tanginess in your cuisine. Use them fresh or dry them into a nice chili powder to spread on any food.
